I have to admit that in all the years I worked in strip clubs as a bouncer and manager I have never heard of The Gentlemen’s Club Owners Expo & Tradeshow. However in the clubs I worked in the owners were mostly coke-heads and unmedicated bipolar freak shows that really showed little interest in improving their business. I think it can go without saying I worked in some pretty shady establishments. I think most people that have worked in the adult industry know exactly the kind of owner I am talking about. My favorite boss though was an older man whose upper lip and nose would glow under the black-lights from cocaine residue.
The adult nightclub industry is a multi-billion dollar business and this is the largest gathering of the year. The host of The Gentlemen’s Club Owners Expo & Tradeshow which will be held in Las Vegas at The Mirage on August 22nd through the 25th. The three day event promises thousands of attendees and over 450 booths. Ed Publications website states that:
Gentlemen’s clubs represent the highest-grossing segment of the nightclub industry. There are more than 3,000 adult nightclubs in North America which employ over 500,000 dancers and support staff, and serve 1.6 million customers a day. Adult nightclubs lead the industry in alcohol sales; they are a multi-billion-dollar industry
You know with this much money involved this Expo promises to be one hell of a party.
Browsing the web I learned that there are two publically traded strip club chains with the NASDAQ symbols RICK and VCGH. Researching more about these club chains I found out how their stocks are performing and other business ventures each participates in.
RICK is Rick’s Cabaret Int’l, Inc. and they have 19 adult night clubs, a food and beverage department, and a media department which operates websites and publications, RICK also owns ED Publications. The value of their stock at the time this article is being written is $7.89 with a 52 week high of $16.05 and low of $6.46.
VCGH is VCG Holding Corp. they have 20 adult night clubs that offer live adult entertainment, and restaurant and bar operations. The clubs are located in 10 states. The value of their stock is $1.61 with a 52 week high of $2.92 and low of $1.53 at the time of this post.
It’s an exciting time to be in the adult industry and I swear there is nothing better than sitting down after a long week and relaxing while some hot woman dances above your head…
